Okay, hold on to your hats, everyone. Because this Ruth Bancroft Garden Wedding may be my favorite wedding of all time.
Adam + Katie were married in the fall of 2021 at the most magical succulent garden I’ve ever been to. And fun fact, I had never been there- despite growing up a mere 15 minute drive from the location. This location is the stuff of dreams if you want a mostly outdoor, laid-back, surrounded by nature, garden wedding. Ruth Bancroft Garden is located in Walnut Creek, California and it’s actually a non-profit succulent nursery. It has secret garden vibes, with winding paths filled with nature all throughout the massive property. And the light- the light is absolutely to live for lighting.
The Details
This is one of those weddings wear the images more than speak for themselves, so I’m not going to bore you much longer with the details- but let’s make sure to talk about the details a little bit. I fell in love with Adam + Katie’s florist, Gorgeous And Green. Please, go check out her site. The flowers are locally grown, sustainable, and absolutely stunning. Another super fun detail of this Ruth Bancroft Garden Wedding is that I actually went to the same college as the majority of the guests. Katie graduated from Oberlin College, shout out to my alma mater, and some of the guests were actually people I overlapped with at school- though most were there well after my time, because, well, I’m an elder millennial. AKA, I’m old.
But, it’s time for the pictures. Because that’s why you’re here right? This little bit of writing at the start of the blog is just for good SEO ratings. The real thing is the photos. So, here you go:

Something else I want to mention is that I shot this wedding- in fact, I shoot most weddings solo. So if you are worried that with only one photographer, you won’t be able to get both the bride walking down the aisle, and the groom’s reaction, don’t be.
This wedding is also a perfect example of why scheduling your photos in the hour prior to sunset is an absolute necessity.
