I’m so excited to share this wedding from last spring which took place at The District in Richmond, Illinois. Jacquie and Mike had a truly perfect spring wedding day- slight winds but ample sunshine and warm temperatures. We started their day at the venue, took a quick tour of Lake Geneva for the church and some photos, and then headed back to The District in Richmond, Illinois for the wedding reception! I was so happy to have Karen Shoufler with me as my second shooter for the day, and to have Lakeside Bride, represented by Kylie, running the day!
The District Richmond Illinois Wedding
The District is a Memorial Hall in Richmond, Illinois and it’s an absolutely stunning wedding venue. High ceilings, a gorgeous getting ready area for the bride, and a covered outdoor space for cocktail hour (or a ceremony if getting married on site!). It’s definitely my vibe and style of wedding, so it was a fantastic day. Not to mention the couple- Jacquie and Mike are so adorable and so very in love. If you look closely, you can spot a tear running down Mike’s face when he sees Jacquie coming coming down the aisle. I live for these kinds of moments.
The Portraits
My favorite part of this wedding was… the getting ready and the portraits. I’m a sucker for lakeside pictures. Seriously- no matter where you are getting married, finding a way to do waterside photos is a MUST, whenever possible.
The Details
One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is the decor/details- and Jacquie absolutely nailed it. So many small touches, and such elegance throughout. The blues and subtle details made the day so special. Everywhere you looked there was thought and care. I wish we could go back an do it all over again- and a special shoutout to the florist, Love and Light Florist, for such stunning flowers.
